At Pivotal, we seek out people and organizations who are deeply rooted in their issues and communities and use our resources to support and scale their work.
Pivotal was originally founded in 2015. As our work has expanded, our giving structure has evolved. Today, Pivotal achieves impact in three ways: through Pivotal Philanthropies**, a 501(c)(3) private foundation focused on charitable grantmaking and impact investing; Pivotal Initiatives Fund, a 501(c)(4) focused on policy and advocacy work; and Pivotal Ventures, an LLC focused on direct investments and partnerships. This approach allows us to engage multiple levers to help unlock progress toward a better future for women and families.
Through Pivotal, Melinda has pledged $2 billion to increase women’s power and influence and improve the well-being of women and families.
